Zotero Library Mcp

Overview

Zotero Library Mcp is a Model Context Protocol server that lets you add papers and books to your Zotero library by DOI, arXiv ID, or ISBN, and manage your collection. Any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call its tools directly during conversations or agent runs, deciding when to use them based on your needs.

The server runs locally as a Python package installed via uvx zotero-library-mcp. It communicates over stdio and requires two environment variables to authenticate: ZOTERO_LIBRARY_ID and ZOTERO_API_KEY. The latest release is v0.5.0, with source code available at RaulSimpetru/zotero-library-mcp on GitHub.
