The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI applications connect to external tools and data. An MCP client (like Claude, Cursor, or Codex) talks to MCP servers, and each server exposes tools the model can call — searching a codebase, querying a database, sending a message.
A program that exposes tools, resources, and prompts over the protocol. Local servers run on your machine and connect over stdio; remote servers are hosted endpoints you connect to over HTTP with OAuth or an API key.
Every listing includes per-client install snippets. For local servers, copy the JSON block into your client’s MCP config. For remote servers, paste the hosted URL into your client’s connector settings and authenticate.
Use the Submit page — we review new listings within 48 hours. Servers built with GetMCP are listed automatically, with hosting details and auth type filled in for you.
