Overview

Yahoo Finance is a Model Context Protocol server that brings real-time market data into your AI assistant. Access stock quotes, historical price data, financial statements, analyst ratings, options chains, and financial news through a single integrated tool. The server exposes Yahoo Finance functionality as tools your AI can invoke directly, making financial data queries natural and conversational.

The server runs locally on your machine via the npm package yahoo-finance-mcp-server, communicating over stdio with no authentication required. Install it with npx -y yahoo-finance-mcp-server and start using it immediately. Version 1.2.4 is available under the MIT license, with full source code at danishashko/yahoo-finance-mcp on GitHub.
