Vault Cortex

Overview

Vault Cortex is a standalone MCP server that connects your Obsidian vault to AI assistants. It enables hybrid search across notes and files, memory management, task tracking, and OAuth 2.1 authentication, giving Claude and other AI tools direct access to your knowledge base.

The server runs locally via Docker using the image ghcr.io/aliasunder/vault-cortex:0.45.0. You'll need to set the MCP_AUTH_TOKEN environment variable to authenticate. Version 0.45.0 is the latest release, published under the MIT license with source code available at aliasunder/vault-cortex on GitHub, where the project has 16 stars.
