Overview

Understanding Graph is a Model Context Protocol server that builds persistent understanding through workflow prompts, typed updates, graph-native code, and supersession. It exposes graph-based knowledge management as tools that AI assistants can invoke directly, enabling dynamic reasoning and context preservation across conversations.

The server runs locally on your machine via npx -y understanding-graph, with no authentication required. Built as an npm package that speaks MCP over stdio, it requires no external credentials or setup. The latest release is v0.1.31, distributed under the MIT license with source code available at emergent-wisdom/understanding-graph on GitHub.
