TrueNAS SCALE

Overview

TrueNAS SCALE is an MCP server that lets you inspect and manage TrueNAS SCALE storage, shares, apps and system state through the Model Context Protocol. Instead of manually switching between interfaces, AI assistants can call TrueNAS operations as tools, making automation and queries faster and more reliable.

The server runs locally via Docker using the image ghcr.io/cedricziel/truenas-mcp:0.4.2, communicating over stdio. You'll need to set the TRUENAS_MCP_TARGET environment variable to point to your TrueNAS instance. Version 0.4.2 is available under the MIT license, with full source code at cedricziel/truenas-mcp on GitHub.
