Overview

TranscriptAPI is an MCP server that gives AI agents access to YouTube transcripts, search, channels, and playlists. Any MCP-compatible assistant can call its tools directly, letting the model decide when to fetch transcripts or search for video content during conversations or agent runs.

You can connect to the hosted endpoint at https://api.transcriptapi.io/mcp without installing anything locally, or run the npm package transcriptapi-mcp on your own machine. Either way, you'll need to provide your TRANSCRIPTAPI_KEY via environment variable. The latest release is v0.1.1.
