TokenTrace

Overview

TokenTrace is an MCP server that brings local-first AI CLI usage analytics to your agents. It integrates directly into AI assistants as an MCP server, exposing analytics capabilities as tools your model can invoke to track and analyze token consumption and usage patterns.

The server runs entirely on your machine via the npm package tokentrace, communicating over stdio. Install it with npx -y tokentrace—no authentication or external credentials needed. TokenTrace is released as v0.21.2 under the MIT license, with source code available at abhiyoheswaran1/tokentrace on GitHub.
