Spines

Overview

Spines is a Model Context Protocol server that connects AI assistants to book collections, reading lists, and bookshelf recognition. Any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call Spines tools directly, letting the model decide when to use them during conversations or agent tasks.

The server runs locally via the npm package @spines/mcp-server, communicating over stdio on your machine. You'll need to provide your SPINES_API_KEY through environment variables to authenticate. Version v1.0.2 is available under the MIT license, with source code at GetSpines/mcp-server on GitHub.
