Scribefy

Overview

Scribefy is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Search YouTube, get video metadata, and extract timestamped transcripts for AI workflows. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.

It runs locally: the npm package scribefy-mcp speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need SCRIBEFY_API_KEY. The current release is v0.3.5, published under the MIT license, with source at MKirovBG/scribefy-mcp on GitHub.
