Overview

S3 is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: MCP server for AWS S3 with fine-grained tool control and S3-compatible endpoint support. Because it speaks the Model Context Protocol, AI assistants can use S3 as a set of callable tools instead of you copy-pasting between apps.

It runs locally: the npm package s3-aws-mcp-server speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID, AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY.
