Opensolr Mcp

Overview

Opensolr Mcp is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Managed Apache Solr for agents: hybrid BM25+kNN search, server-side embeddings, RAG answers. In practice that means any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call Opensolr Mcp's tools directly — the model decides when to use them in a conversation or agent run.

It runs locally: the Python package opensolr-mcp (via uvx) speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need OPENSOLR_EMAIL, OPENSOLR_API_KEY. The current release is v0.4.0, published under the MIT license, with source at phpcip/opensolr-mcp on GitHub.
