Overview

OpenGrok MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: MCP server bridging OpenGrok search engine with AI for instant context across massive codebases. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.

It runs locally: the npm package opengrok-mcp-server speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need OPENGROK_BASE_URL, OPENGROK_USERNAME. The current release is v9.0.1, with source at IcyHot09/opengrok-mcp-server on GitHub.
