Overview

OpenBusData is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: MCP server for UK Bus Open Data with timetable parsing, journey planning and live tracking. Because it speaks the Model Context Protocol, AI assistants can use OpenBusData as a set of callable tools instead of you copy-pasting between apps.

It runs locally: the Python package openbusdata-mcp (via uvx) speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need OPENBUS_API_KEY. The current release is v1.0.2, with source at AndrewAubury/openbusdata-mcp on GitHub.
