Obsidian Vault MCP Server

Overview

Obsidian Vault MCP Server enables AI assistants to read, search, and interact with your Obsidian vaults through the Model Context Protocol. Instead of manual copying between apps, Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients can access your notes as callable tools via a local REST API.

The server runs locally on your machine through the npm package @oleksandrkucherenko/mcp-obsidian, communicating over stdio. You'll need to configure API_KEY and API_URLS as environment variables to connect to your vault. The latest release is v1.3.3, distributed under the MIT license with source code available at OleksandrKucherenko/mcp-obsidian-via-rest on GitHub.
