Obsidian CLI MCP

Overview

Obsidian CLI MCP is a local Model Context Protocol server that connects your MCP-compatible AI assistant to Obsidian Desktop via the official Obsidian CLI. Once installed, any MCP client can call Obsidian CLI MCP's tools directly, letting your AI assistant work with your vault as part of a conversation or agent workflow.

The server runs locally on your machine using the npm package @dariuscodes/obsidian-cli-mcp, communicating over stdio. No authentication is required — install with npx -y @dariuscodes/obsidian-cli-mcp and it works immediately. The latest release is v0.4.1, distributed under the MIT license with source code available at DariusCorvus/obsidian-cli-mcp on GitHub.
