Mpv Mcp Server

Overview

Mpv Mcp Server is a Model Context Protocol server that lets you control the mpv media player through an AI assistant. You can manage playback, organize playlists, stream content from YouTube, and download media — all without leaving your chat or editor.

It runs locally on your machine via the npm package mpv-mcp-server, which communicates with AI assistants over standard input and output. No authentication is required. The latest release is v1.2.0, available from arijit-gogoi/mpv-mcp-server on GitHub.

Mpv Mcp Server is listed in the Development category on mcp.site and works with any MCP client including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Zed. If you maintain this project, you can claim this listing to verify ownership and keep the information up to date.
