Overview

Microsoft SQL Server is a read-only Model Context Protocol server that brings SQL Server capabilities to AI assistants. It enables metadata discovery, parameterized SELECT queries, and query plan analysis, exposing these functions as tools that Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients can invoke directly.

The server runs locally on your machine via the NuGet package Alyio.McpMssql, communicating over stdio. Installation uses the command dnx Alyio.McpMssql --yes. Authentication requires an API Key. Version 1.2.0 is the latest release, published under the MIT license with source code available at alyiox/mcp-mssql on GitHub.
