Overview

MemoryLayer is a Model Context Protocol server that provides local-first persistent memory for AI agents, complete with reasoning and formal verification capabilities. Any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call MemoryLayer's tools directly, letting the model decide when to use them during conversations or agent runs.

The server runs locally on your machine using the npm package @raajvamsy/memorylayer, which communicates over stdio. Version v1.7.1 is the current release. You'll need an API Key to authenticate with the service.

MemoryLayer is listed in the Memory category on mcp.site and works with MCP clients including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed and others in the ecosystem. If you maintain MemoryLayer, you can claim this listing to verify ownership and keep information up to date.
