Memory Fabric

Overview

Memory Fabric is an MCP server that provides file-first, local-first memory for AI coding assistants using Markdown and YAML, with no vector database required. It lets AI assistants call memory operations as tools through the Model Context Protocol instead of manual copy-pasting between applications.

The server runs entirely on your machine as a local Python package. Install it with uvx memory-fabric, and it communicates with your MCP client over stdio. No authentication or external credentials are needed — it works immediately after installation. Memory Fabric is released under the MIT license at version v1.4.0, with source code available at elViRafa/agentic-memory on GitHub.
