Memex

Overview

Memex is a Model Context Protocol server that functions as a local-first second brain, enabling semantic search across your markdown notes indexed by a local ML model. It lets Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients query and retrieve your notes as callable tools, eliminating the need to manually copy and paste between applications.

The server runs entirely on your machine via the npm package @evan-moon/memex and requires no authentication or external credentials. Installation is simple with npx -y @evan-moon/memex. It ships as version v0.5.0 under the MIT license, with source code available in the evan-moon/memex repository on GitHub.
