Overview

Mcpg is a production-grade PostgreSQL MCP server that equips AI assistants with 254 tools for query execution, performance tuning, and database operations. Built with read-only defaults, it lets any MCP-compatible AI model call these tools directly during conversations or agent runs, deciding when to use them based on the task at hand.

The server runs locally as a Python package installed via uvx mcpg, communicating over stdio with zero setup overhead. No authentication is required — it works immediately after installation. Version v0.8.0 is available now under the MIT license, with full source code at devopam/MCPg on GitHub.
