Overview

MCP State Sidecar is a Model Context Protocol server that provides durable state persistence for multi-agent AI workflows. Any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call its tools directly, with the model deciding when to use them during conversations or agent runs.

The server runs locally via the command uvx mcp-state-sidecar, requiring no authentication and working out of the box. It is built as a Python package that communicates over MCP stdio on your machine.
