Overview

MCP Slack is a secure read-only MCP server that gives AI assistants direct access to your Slack workspace. When you connect it to Claude, Cursor, VS Code, or another MCP client, the model can call MCP Slack's tools to browse channels, search messages, and pull information from Slack conversations — all decided by the model in real time during a chat or agent run.

It runs locally on your machine. Install it with uvx mcp-slack-crunchtools and it communicates over stdio with no setup required — no credentials, no external hosting. The latest version is v0.1.2, published under the AGPL-3.0 license with source code available at crunchtools/mcp-slack on GitHub.
