Overview

Mcp Screenshot is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Take Wayland screenshots via grim/slurp. Full screen, region, or interactive crop. In practice that means any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call Mcp Screenshot's tools directly — the model decides when to use them in a conversation or agent run.

It runs locally: the Python package mcp-screenshot (via uvx) speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need WAYLAND_DISPLAY, XDG_RUNTIME_DIR. The current release is v1.0.1, with source at KamaruSama/mcp-screenshot on GitHub.
