MCP Office Word

Overview

MCP Office Word is a Model Context Protocol server that brings 50 Microsoft Word tools into your AI assistant. It handles document assembly, tracked changes, and export operations with a Windows-first design, letting Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients invoke Word functionality directly.

The server runs locally via the mcp-office Python package. Install it with uvx mcp-office and configure the WORD_ALLOWLIST_ROOTS environment variable to specify which directories the server can access. Version v0.7.0 is available now under the MIT license, with full source code at dosev-ai/mcp-office on GitHub.
