MCP Office Excel

Overview

MCP Office Excel is a Model Context Protocol server that brings 65 tools for working with Excel files directly into your AI assistant. Read, write, format, and export .xlsx files with a Windows-first design that integrates seamlessly with any MCP-compatible client.

The server runs locally on your machine using the mcp-office Python package, installed via uvx mcp-office. It communicates with your AI assistant over stdio and requires the EXCEL_ALLOWLIST_ROOTS environment variable for configuration. Version v0.7.0 is available now under the MIT license, with source code at dosev-ai/mcp-office on GitHub.
