Mcp Mdns

Overview

Mcp Mdns is a Model Context Protocol server that enables mDNS (Multicast DNS) service discovery through AI assistants. Instead of manually searching for services on your network, Claude and other MCP clients can use Mcp Mdns to discover and query mDNS services directly as callable tools.

The server runs locally on your machine via the Python package mcp-mdns, installed with uvx mcp-mdns. It communicates over stdio and requires no credentials or authentication to get started. Version v0.1.2 is available now under the MIT license, with full source code at daedalus/mcp-mdns on GitHub.

Mcp Mdns appears in the Development category on mcp.site and works with any MCP client including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Zed. If you maintain this server, claim your listing to earn the Verified badge and keep your information up to date.
