Mcp Hackernews

Overview

Mcp Hackernews is a Model Context Protocol server that brings Hacker News search directly into your AI assistant. It exposes a simple tool for searching top stories, letting any MCP-compatible model decide when and how to fetch the latest from the community.

The server runs locally on your machine as a Python package installed via uvx mcp-hackernews. It communicates with your MCP client over stdio and requires no authentication or external credentials to get started. The latest release is v1.1.0, with full source code available at YinTokey/mcp_hackernews on GitHub.

Mcp Hackernews appears in the Development category on mcp.site and integrates with MCP clients including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Zed. Maintainers are welcome to claim this listing to verify ownership and keep the information up to date.
