MagicTeX

Overview

MagicTeX is a Model Context Protocol server that brings LaTeX editing capabilities to AI agents. It provides live PDF preview, PDF comments that drive edits, and git history tracking, allowing any MCP-compatible AI assistant to call its tools directly and decide when to use them during conversations or agent runs.

The server runs locally via the npm package magictex-mcp, communicating over stdio with no authentication required. It installs with npx -y magictex-mcp and works out of the box. The current release is v0.1.10, published under the AGPL-3.0 license with source code available at ZoeLinUTS/MagicTeX-mcp on GitHub.
