Overview

Macwhisper Mcp Server brings local audio transcription to Claude Desktop and other MCP clients. It uses MacWhisper to transcribe audio directly on your Mac with no cloud connection — your audio never leaves your machine. The server exposes transcription as a tool your AI assistant can invoke.

It runs entirely locally as a Python package installed via uvx macwhisper-mcp-server. The server communicates over stdio and requires the MACWHISPER_ALLOWED_PATHS environment variable for configuration. Version v1.0.1 is available under the MIT license, with source code at docdyhr/macwhisper-mcp-server on GitHub.
