Longhand

Overview

Longhand is a Model Context Protocol server that provides local memory for Claude Code with semantic recall across your entire session history. It uses zero API calls, enabling your AI assistant to search and retrieve past context intelligently during conversations and agent runs.

The server runs locally on your machine via the Python package longhand, installed with uvx longhand. It communicates over stdio and requires no authentication or external credentials to get started. Version v0.5.5 is available now under the MIT license, with full source code on GitHub at Wynelson94/longhand.
