Overview

Locksmith is a Model Context Protocol server that analyzes PostgreSQL migrations and identifies dangerous locking operations, then suggests safe alternative rewrites. By integrating Locksmith with your AI assistant, you can catch migration hazards in real time and get actionable guidance without leaving your coding environment.

The server runs locally on your machine via the npm package locksmith-mcp, which communicates over stdio. Installation is simple: npx -y locksmith-mcp. No authentication or external credentials are needed. Locksmith is released under the MIT license and maintained at cxk280/locksmith on GitHub.
