Overview

LastSearch is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Evidence-backed web research for AI agents with citations and confidence scores. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.

It runs locally: the npm package lastsearch speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need LASTSEARCH_API_KEY. The current release is v1.0.3, published under the Apache-2.0 license, with source at lastsearch-hq/lastsearch on GitHub, where it has earned 20 stars.
