kObsidian

Overview

kObsidian is a Model Context Protocol server that turns Obsidian into an LLM-maintained wiki. It connects your AI assistant directly to your vault, letting the model read, write, and organize notes as part of natural conversation or autonomous workflows. Inspired by Karpathy's LLM Wiki approach, it brings filesystem-first knowledge management to any MCP-compatible AI.

The server runs locally via npx -y kobsidian-mcp. You'll need to set the OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH environment variable and provide an API key for authentication. The latest release is v0.2.1, published under the Apache-2.0 license with source code at bezata/kObsidian on GitHub.
