KiCad Copilot

Overview

KiCad Copilot is a file-oriented MCP server that brings AI-assisted workflow to KiCad schematics, PCB placement, routing, and pours. It lets any MCP-compatible AI assistant access KiCad tools directly, with the model deciding when and how to apply them during conversations or agent runs.

The server runs locally via the npm package kicad-copilot-mcp, communicating over stdio on your machine. Install it with npx -y kicad-copilot-mcp. No credentials required—it works immediately out of the box. Version v0.1.0 is published under the MIT license with source code at biosshot/kicad-copilot on GitHub.
