iMessage MCP is a read-only MCP server that gives AI assistants access to your iMessage, SMS, MMS, and RCS message history already stored in Apple Messages on Mac. It exposes your messages as tools that Claude, Cursor, and other AI models can read and analyze on your behalf.

iMessage MCP runs locally on your machine via the npm package imessage-mcp. Install it with npx -y imessage-mcp and configure two environment variables: IMESSAGE_REFERENCE_KEY_FILE and IMESSAGE_DATABASE_ID_FILE. The latest release is v2.0.0-rc.1, available under the MIT license from anipotts/imessage-mcp on GitHub.
