Homebutler

Overview

Homebutler is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Inspect and manage a homelab over MCP - status, Docker, ports, backups - without shell access. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.

It runs locally: the npm package homebutler speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. No credentials are required — it works out of the box. The current release is v0.23.1, published under the MIT license, with source at Higangssh/homebutler on GitHub, where it has earned 265 stars.
