Overview

Hn Mcp Server lets you browse Hacker News feeds, threads, and user profiles directly from any MCP-compatible AI assistant. The server exposes Hacker News data as tools that Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients can call during conversations and agent runs, with full-text search built in.

You can connect to the hosted endpoint at https://hn.caseyjhand.com/mcp without any local setup, or install and run the server on your own machine using npx -y @cyanheads/hn-mcp-server. No authentication is required. The latest release is v0.5.14 under the Apache-2.0 license, with source code at cyanheads/hn-mcp-server on GitHub.
