Handset

Overview

Handset is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that brings business phone capabilities to AI agents. Through its tools, any MCP-compatible AI assistant can send texts, place calls, read transcripts, and buy phone numbers directly from conversation, with the model choosing when and how to use each function.

The server runs locally via the npm package @handset/mcp, connecting over stdio to your machine. You'll need to set the HANDSET_API_KEY environment variable to authenticate. The latest release is v0.1.1, published under the MIT license with source code available at handset-hq/handset-ui on GitHub.
