Gretl MCP

Overview

Gretl MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that lets you run Hansl and Gretl econometrics workflows directly from your AI assistant. It handles GUI launches and artifact generation, turning Gretl into a set of callable tools accessible to Claude, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients without manual copying between applications.

The server installs locally via npx -y gretl-mcp and requires no authentication to get started. It communicates over stdio on your machine using the npm package gretl-mcp. The latest release is v0.2.1, distributed under the MIT license with source code available at OndrejLapes/GretlMCP on GitHub.
