Overview

GrayMatter is a Model Context Protocol server that provides persistent agent memory through a knowledge graph, all packaged as a single Go binary. It runs locally with zero infrastructure requirements and includes a terminal user interface for observability. As an MCP server, it connects directly to AI assistants like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and Cursor, exposing memory and context management as tools your AI can invoke.

The server requires no credentials and works out of the box with no external dependencies. Version v0.16.4 is available under the MIT license, with source code at angelnicolasc/graymatter on GitHub where the project has gained 462 stars.

GrayMatter belongs in the Memory category on mcp.site and works with MCP clients including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed, and others. If you maintain this project, claim your listing to verify ownership and keep information up to date.
