Overview

Grasp is a Model Context Protocol server that analyzes codebases to reveal dependency graphs, identify security issues, and suggest refactoring strategies across GitHub and GitLab repositories. By integrating with MCP clients, it lets AI assistants query your code architecture directly without manual context switching.

The server runs locally as an npm package. Install it with npx -y grasp-mcp-server and it will communicate with your MCP client over stdio. No authentication is needed—it works immediately after installation. The latest release is v3.21.0, maintained at ashfordeOU/grasp on GitHub with 17 stars.
