Gramps Web MCP

Overview

Gramps Web MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that provides structured access to Gramps Web genealogy data. Any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call its tools directly, allowing the model to work with genealogical records in conversation or agent workflows.

The server runs locally via the Docker image ghcr.io/scormave/gramps-web-mcp:1.0.7, communicating over stdio. You'll need to configure it with the environment variables GRAMPS_API_URL, GRAMPS_USERNAME, and GRAMPS_PASSWORD to authenticate with your Gramps Web instance. Version 1.0.7 is released under the AGPL-3.0 license, with source code available at Scormave/gramps-web-mcp on GitHub.
