Govee

Overview

Govee is a Model Context Protocol server that brings your Govee smart lights and devices into any MCP-compatible AI assistant. It uses a LAN-first approach with cloud fallback, so your AI can control lighting and other Govee hardware directly in conversations and agent runs.

The server runs locally on your machine using the govee-mcp Python package, installed via uvx govee-mcp. It communicates over stdio with your MCP client and requires a Govee API key for authentication. The latest release is v0.2.0, published under the MIT license with source code available at evefromwayback/govee-mcp on GitHub.
