Overview

Google Sheets is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Google Sheets integration with OAuth, spreadsheet management, batch operations, and formatting. In practice that means any MCP-compatible AI assistant can call Google Sheets's tools directly — the model decides when to use them in a conversation or agent run.

It runs locally: the npm package @mcp-z/mcp-sheets speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. Configuration happens through environment variables — you'll need GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID. The current release is v1.2.1.
