Overview

Google Sheets is an MCP server that lets AI systems read, write, and query spreadsheet data directly from Google Sheets. Instead of manually copying data between applications, AI assistants can use Google Sheets as callable tools, making spreadsheet workflows faster and more seamless.

The server runs locally via the npm package google-sheets-mcp, which communicates with MCP over stdio. You'll need to provide three environment variables to authenticate: GOOGLE_ACCESS_TOKEN, MCP_TRANSPORT, and GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID. The latest release is v1.2.1, maintained at domdomegg/google-sheets-mcp on GitHub.
