Gatekeeper

Overview

Gatekeeper is an MCP server that enforces policies, requires human approval, and maintains audit logs for MCP tool calls. It integrates with AI assistants to add governance and safety controls around tool execution without requiring manual copy-paste workflows between applications.

The server runs locally via the npm package @runestone-labs/gatekeeper-mcp and communicates over stdio. Installation uses npx -y @runestone-labs/gatekeeper-mcp, and you'll need to set the GATEKEEPER_ROLE environment variable. Version v0.1.1 is available under the Apache-2.0 license, with source code at Runestone-Labs/gatekeeper on GitHub.
