Filesystem Context

Overview

Filesystem Context is a read-only MCP server that enables secure filesystem exploration, searching, and analysis. By implementing the Model Context Protocol, it allows AI assistants to explore your file system as callable tools rather than requiring manual file copying between applications.

The server runs locally on your machine via the npm package @j0hanz/filesystem-context-mcp, communicating over stdio. No authentication is required. Version v1.0.9 is available now under the MIT license, with full source code hosted at j0hanz/filesystem-context-mcp-server on GitHub.
