Embgrep

Overview

Embgrep is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: Local semantic search — embedding-powered grep for files, zero external services. As an MCP server it plugs straight into AI assistants, exposing its functionality as tools the model can invoke on your behalf.

It runs locally: the Python package embgrep (via uvx) speaks MCP over stdio on your machine. No credentials are required — it works out of the box. The current release is v0.1.0, published under the MIT license, with source at QuartzUnit/embgrep on GitHub.
